If you could play just one song to get someone in to EDM, what would it be? (pg. 8)

agree.

they have to be absolute party tunes to get anyone into the music.

like the ones that the entire club sings along with (if they have vocals).

Let it Go
zeKsg
Swoop - Black Market (Butch Mix) - one of the tunes that Sasha & Digweed played in Montreal and some guy got in on a youtube video. I showed the video to my friend who does not listen to edm and she loved it.

Heres the vid, i guess the party atmosphere helped the track))

NEW FAVE: "LET GO" by Paul Van Dyk
ULTIMATE FAVOURITE (that got me into EDM): "BORN SLIPPY" by Underworld
:gsmile:
Euphorica
nothing wrong with clear blue water. :p

lol so many to list really and it totally dpends on the person. i just had my buddy try rip me apart when he found out im into edm. going on and on about how "hip hop" is way better and some super ghey fruity guitar hes into (not hating on rock or whatever, i enjoy good stuff myself) but what he played for me on his ipod was so flaming nasty. i was blown away.

if I had to choose a couple off the top of my head.

Gabriel and Dresden - arcadia

saltwater- the legacy(alphazone)

if that doesnt get you going you are officially broken.

those above along with some others listed already like orbital...

ive always liked nightflight komet even if its a bit cheeseball.
Shade
I'd probably play the Way Out West - Don't Look Now album rather than an individual song. Makes for a good 'bridge' album and you can't go wrong with Way Out West :)

That or some JXL, so they still have some sounds consistent with whatever they listen to (most likely anyways).

Also, for more recent stuff, something like Agoria - Les Violons Ivres (Super Remix) would probably do it.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
Freaking absolutely timeless and classic!!!!!

For me it would have to be either Robert Miles - Children or Underworld - Born Slippy. Can't go wrong with classics. I think more recent stuff does not have as broad of an appeal.

something that rings true, something that rings true, something that rings true...very catchy, plus those familiar depeche vocals!

Aw LOVE that vocal:cool:

ANOTHER great one, one of my ALL-TIME faves:
Depeche Mode - Only When I Lose Myself (Lexicon Avenue remix)
At LEAST 3-4 ppl got into some form of elec. music after i played that for 'em...
And as you say, those familiar Depeche vocals...almost hypnotizing...mesmerizing

An impossible track to NOT like imo:gsmile:
am i wrong?...don't think so:p

Ha...my favorite house track of all time, for years running! I just wouldn't user that to transition someone, with the dark tribal feel to it.

I'm working on converting my girlfriend, or at least building her appreciation. I'm going to load 15 tracks on her iPod every couple weeks, being very careful with what I give her first - very vocally remixes - and I'm going to hold off on giving her "I Found You" until the second or third, just because of its long vocal-free stints ;)

Also, Personal Jesus (Francois K) ^5!

Good plan with the gf...seems u been planning this carefully for awhile:clown:
For me it was grooming my 18-yr old sis for the last 5-6 yrs, and she now loves a good beat;)

Funny that Only When I Lose Myself is ur fave ever:happy2:
The ppl it's worked on for me have ALL said they loved it coz "its so smooth, groovy"...
All 3-4 came from being mostly hip hop/r'n b fans.
The thing is tho i played it at a relatively low volume.

I think its one of those trax that when blasted loud it's got that dark, tribal feel,
whereas when played really low/softly it still has the groove to be somewhat chilled or smooth.

I havent heard that Persoanl Jesus remix:confused:
