As far as honest, objective, relatively unbiased political/election coverage?
:stongue:
I don't think it exists. |
I regularly check www.tpmelectioncentral.com but I see your point - you really have to work to get both sides of some stories.
| quote: | Also, is it me, or has the Times really, really been dropping the ball the past few months (specifically their clear bias becoming even more clear, and its affect on their accuracy/reporting)?
:conf: |
The Times news writers or the editorialists? Because the op-ed writers are all over the place, especially with the addition of neo-con Kristol. |

| I don't read newspapers for politics. I generally read a combination of newsmagazines like the Atlantic plus political blogs from all parts of the spectrum. |

Loooooooove The Atlantic - and their opinion writers online as well. The New Republic is probably my most recent favorite though, as well as Foreign Policy and Foreign Affairs.
But wait.
What the hell is going on in this thread?
I didn't want a discussion... I wanted someone to chop Jesus Hillary into a picture of Sensation White or something. |

LOL.
The disaster of a chop thread turning into a serious discussion. I'll take the blame. |

News - I definitely expect op-ed stuff to be heavily biased.
I don't know - I just haven't enjoyed the tone of the front section of the Times lately, but can't really put my finger on exactly why. |

Ok good, because I have a huge crush on Maureen Dowd and if you were talking smack about her we might no longer be able to be friends. |

This thread, for rising from such tragedy, is made of win. |

I think she is the only person capable of hating Hillary more than RJT.
Or maybe this guy is:

By the way, it took all the way until page 2 for the first actual chop in a chop thread to appear.
Lame.
And no, I didn't actually make that chop. :( |

Maureen Dowd is the best one that they have. Today's column about Hillary was pretty good.
My favorite paragraph:
| quote: | | There was a poignancy about the moment, seeing Hillary crack with exhaustion from decades of yearning to be the principal rather than the plus-one. But there was a whiff of Nixonian self-pity about her choking up. What was moving her so deeply was her recognition that the country was failing to grasp how much it needs her. In a weirdly narcissistic way, she was crying for us. But it was grimly typical of her that what finally made her break down was the prospect of losing. |
She nails Hillary's self-centered nature head on.
Kristol's first column was slightly worse than I expected. I figured he'd at least start slow. |

Yeah, she just tees off on HRC about once a week now.
But my favorite column of hers was sometime back in October or so, where she was discussing nepotism. My favorite line, and I'm paraphrasing, was something like "without Bill, Hillary would be running for the President of Vassar and not the President of the United States. But to be fair, we should keep that in perspective. For after all, without his father, George W. Bush would simply be pumping gas in Texas. And I'm not talking about the petrochemical industry."
