We had an absolute blast Friday night. The weather seemed to keep some people away but overall it was a great night of music with quality people. It was great to finally get a chance to rock out with Rob. Honestly boss you played a top notch set. Both me and Chels were extremely impressed. Shu nice deeper set as well. Thanks to everyone rocken’ out during my set. I have recordings of all the sets and visuals but there is white noise over the whole entire recording. It sounds ok but I don’t’ know if it is good enough to release. If anyone knows how to get rid of it let me know and I will send them your way. I tried but it always ends up sounding real digital which doesn’t seem to be any better then having the noise. Shu you were a great host, it was a pleasure spinning with you.

The drive back to Michigan right afterwards was the worst idea ever. Talk about sleep deprivation.

I was just glad to hear you made it back alright - and then shocked to hear you were driving all the way back to Chicago later that afternoon.

:wtf:

In any event, yes - Friday was epic win, I had a blast, and outside of some minor technical issues early on, had a lot of fun playing as well. It definitely seemed like the weather kept some folks out, and the fact that the owners of Wax pulled the bar special the moment we arrived was pretty pants - but the crew we had was solid and loads of fun.

As far as the musical highlight of the night, three words: Equestrian Muppet Idol.

Mathias man, your set was pretty well flawless. Still one of the hardest working DJ's I have ever seen, there's really not a moment where you aren't trying some up there - very, very impressive to see.

so true. there were quite a few times when i was gonna hop outside for a smoke but ended up staying right where i was standing just because i was enjoying it so much and didn't want to walk away -- sign of a good DJ right there, imo.

i also thought Shu and Rob played top notch sets that night as well. Rob's set was very diverse and served as an excellent way to bridge the difference in styles between Shu and Mathias' sets. i also really enjoyed some of the groovy melodic stuff that Shu was playing. it was my first time seeing him and i was definitely impressed... and well, Night Walk FTW. <3

Thanks Rob and Myra for the kind words. I really did have a great time throwing down a full two hour set to people who knows what’s up. I don’t think I have ADD but when I am spinning I feel as if I am cheating people by not doing everything I possibly can to enhance the experience, as cheesy as that may sound.

Once again I have the audio recordings. I have tried for a few hours to get rid of some of the white noise crap. I will try a little bit more but if I cant get them working I might just post them up anyways so people can get an idea on what the night sounded like..

Darin, let it be known that the lazer beams are actually red. I miscalculated my extensive knowledge on the unicorn’s natural behavior in the wild and have since been correctly.

Row did you end up actually swinging into wax this night? I think I met you at the end of the night but you introduced yourself with your real name. Either that of I need to lay off the heroin. Please clarify for my sanity.

RJT
He was there the whole night - pretty much beginning to end :)
