There's really nothing to discuss.
Contemporary Xtian "music" is possibly the most terrible to ever scorch the face of the Earth. I'm pretty sure it's what causes Red Tide.
Also, lol @ people who pay for it. And people who make money off of it. Xtian circle-jerk commercialism. Only in America. |
I'd ask what makes it so different in that regard than music which sets other viewpoints on faith as mandates all their own (replete with listeners with equal devotion to whatever sort of gospel is espoused), but I'll pass on logistical argument #35002. Even I can't argue that christian rock is better than NIN.

I'll always go for something with more broad appeal, personally. |

christianity has a pretty good track record of inspiring and funding some pretty legendary works of art, so why the hell does christian rock suck so badly? |
Maybe because 'legendary works of art' and 'rock' don't mix. It's limited by the format. They did alright for themselves when they were sticking to organs. There's only so much you can do with 3 strings, and nobody even takes full advantage of those. |

Don't get down on your knees looking for salvation all over your face.
We might interpret that in a sexual tone to say the least. Ever hear of the tulips joke?
LOL!!!!!!!!!

By "the devil," I meant all musicians not expressly praising God, of course. A famous question of Salvation Army founder William Booth was, "Why should the devil have all the best music?" He wasn't referring to songs that were explicitly anti-God or pro-Satan, just non-religious music.

A number of Christian songs can be interpreted quite easily in a sexual / romantic way, e.g. "In the Garden":
"I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The son of God discloses
And He walks with me
And He talks with me
And He tells me I am His own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known"
