Seriously, though, I'm all for new genres, but this is far from being one. The first two tunes are just a revamped kind of speed garage (it's got even stretched vocals)... and the third tune is just some nu skool breaks with actual drum loops.

J-Tek stands for Jungle techno plain and simple..... I think these guys are pushing things forward by going back to the classic sound, there is nothing wrong with that at all as long as the production is tight.... They are not inventing the wheel but at least they had the balls to make a change and bring back something that went away to quick.. I'm sure the music will say enough when it drops....Great thing for music period....

Does it really sound that different? I really don't think so. And, as for "going back" and trying to merge speed garage with oldskool hardcore... well...
This guy's done a far better (and annoying :p) job — he uses 8-bit samples and anime vocals instead of ragga riffs and jamaican vocals, producing a tune as happy as old skool hardcore used to be, but it still sounds like speed garage.

First of all, jtek has been used to refer to Japanese techno for quite a few years now. Also, techstep would be a better candidate for this "jungle tekno" monicker than this music you guys are posting. I'd say "Garage breaks" would be a more suitable name, for that matter, but most people would think it was some new kind of uk garage. Well, it is, kinda.
Anyway, what's the deal with not having succeeded in creating a new genre? The music is still okay :conf:
