But this is a good way for a DJ to make new fans. And everyone has to start somewhere. I don't think it's so bad if a lot of people at an event don't know who's who in the EDM scene. I'm sure Zabiela didn't mind the exposure to potential new fans.

Really . . . who cares? Going to clubs with "cool people' in the know means to me a room full of dudes, not smiling, trainspotting, looking for the smallest transition flaws.

For example I enjoy wines a lot but hate going to wine tasting. Why? Because many of the people there go not to enjoy the wines but to pick them apart. Usually most have no idea what they are talking about too. Just out to impress each other.

I go out to have fun and listen to music I enjoy. I could care less if the person next to me knows a thing about who is djing. I would rather them be fun, bubbly & happy out to have a good time.

I realized a long time ago most people don't have the same passion towards music as me . . . and that is fine. Has no impact on me at all. Not going to sit and wring my hands over it.

More later ;)

very well said, i feel the same way. i go out to have fun, not to critique. i may appreciate some good mixing, or minor things that someone else may not even notice, but i'm not gonna waste my money going out just to criticize... i don't have that kinda money. :toothless

See I agree with u in the end, but disagree with u in the beginning.

The "cool people in the know" that act like how you say, are haters, not into the music, or think they are better then the DJ on stage.

I am def in the music, thats why while some of my friends hate on the dj i just dance keep on drinking and keep on rocking out!

>>>>>><<<<<<

With that note...I see the same hate here.

Like u stated the way the "cool people" in the know act at a club, i see TONS of people act here.

Most the threads on here reviewing events will have 22132312 negative comments on the dj the venue the vibe etc etc. And maybe 1 or 2 positive comments.

I see people joining bandwagons against DJ's and people just nitpicking a DJ's set to talking smack on the cologne the DJ wore....

Anyways il step off my soapbox right now...

I agree, I totally see where you are coming from. I have never thought about it that way.

what if we could have a dj with great knowledge, stage presence, and all bubbly and fun... that can mix and have a great time too?

I do agree about the great comparison to wine tasting...

cuz I'd go to it just to drink it up and have a good time, and maybe, just maybe learn something?
