Just the ones on the front of my AudioFire. I don't record pro stuff at home though, just ideas. I would go to a studio and get it done in a suitable environment.

| Joe Meek OneQ - preamp, compressor, parametric EQ, enhancer, and de-esser all in one. I use it primarily on vocals, acoustic guitar, and bass. It does color the sound a bit, though, so I'll use the pres on my MOTU 828mkII if I want a cleaner sound. |

DBX 386 dual channel pre
I ripped the factory installed tubes out and replaced them with NOS Sovtek 12au7s
To anyone with a 'tube' preamp.. I encourage you to pop it open and see what brand / type of tubes are in your pre. Just because your pre is tube doesn't mean that the ty chinese production tubes sound any good.
I get matched pairs from thetubestore.com |

Be careful what you say. Someone who doesn't know there are different kinds of tubes doubtfully has the knowledge to OPEN a tube amp, nonetheless. Enough voltage in there to kill a donkey! |

I hear you... but we're talking about pre amp tubes not power amp tubes. pre tubes run on 6-12volts. 300mA max juice. like licking a 9volt battery. no biggie.
DISCAIMER: be careful. |
