| Fawk, I think 1, 3, 4 & 6 were awesome. 2 and 5 were pretty lame though. Either way watching that as a 10 year old was mind boggling. Seeing it now makes me laugh. |

| I guess they're all good, but the first is always the first. Favourite scene is the one where Freddy plays the kid's on nintendo, bouncing them around in a room :p |

:haha:
Freddy using a Wii would make that even cooler. |

i never cared for halloween. so many stupid things in the first movie.
girl goes to her car, realizes door is locked. goes to house, gets keys, goes back to car, opens door WITHOUT UNLOCKING IT. |
How could you possibly hold Halloween to a logical standard, yet have nothing to say for the Nightmare or Friday series? :stongue:
Halloween was ing awesome because of the music.
Actually, the Nightmare theme is really quite creepy.
I wish they still made actually scary horror films. :(
It's really not just a matter of all of us growing up, you know. Of course things like Freddy Kreuger were scary when we were younger - dreams being the place our parents could not protect us, blablabla - but that sort of drew upon some very innate fears that people have still not come to any resolution with. What was the last actually decent horror movie made? So sad. :/

The Exorcism Of Emily Rose was decent, imo. |

Oh you . Good call. :stongue:
But still, that was soooo similar to The Exorcist. It was great, but there's hardly anything original anymore. I mean, of course you could take the old there's nothing new under the sun approach, but I think there's still a lot more that could be explored in horror. It seems like the whole genre has been reduced to nothing but celebrity spotlights and cheap cinematography thrills; the whole static/sporadic theatrics of movies like Saw just sort of stylize things to a very, very formulated point.
The Mist was possibly the largest step in the right direction in quite some time, but it seems like the 1980s were a booming period for the development of the paradigm of fear. Maybe we can look forward to some imaginative resurgence in 10 years. :p |

Come to think of it, the only good scary movie i've seen lately was when i re-re-watched the original Hellraiser :tongue2
But these last few years, Japanese & Korean horror ftw. |

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO .
The first 4 or 5 Hellraiser movies were absolute mint. I wish Barker would actually do something again instead of like...endorsing computer games. :stongue:
