so i just got this job in the city at SNY (TV) and given i live in Teaneck, NJ and i'm trying to figure out the best way for me to get in and out of the city..... my shift is from 3:30pm to between midnight & 1:30AM because of baseball season.
Option 1:
work would give me a parking discount if i was to drive, $10 a day +$6 Toll @ GWB
Option 2:
i can take the train in the city which would probably cost me about $7 a day but not sure how much the parking at the station would cost me everyday? And taking the subway from there how much that would cost? (Only problem is that i don't think the trains or buses run to 1+ AM everyday)
Option 3:
???????????????????????????????????????????? |

| I commute now everyday. I take the bus then the subway. I pay $120 a month for a bus pass and then 40 for the subway. Wish I could help you but those hours could be a killer for public transportation.. You can prob take the Path train in hoboken but you will pay to park at the lot i believe. Then take the subway to where you have to go.. Prob be cheap still instead of driving in a paying to park everyday, plus gas and tolls. |

Where in Jersey do you live?
If I'm correct, the SNY studio is right next to me at 51st and 6th. Driving every day at 3:30pm will be a real pain. Parking around here will run you about $25/day or $400/month. You might be better off taking a bus into the city then walking or subway. |

Another option is to drive to the port imperial ferry terminals on river road then taking the ferry across. There's a free bus from 39th st. terminal to 50th and 6th. |

i live in teaneck (bergen county)
the only problem with public transportation is my hours!!!! :whip: I'm gonna see if i can get something better and i would probably get out earlier most days but it depends where the Mets play that day, if they play in the west coast for example then i would get out probably later then public transportation :( |

check the NJ transit bus lines. It's probably your best bet. sometimes buses are more convenient because you can either pick up the bus within walking distance from your house, or the parking in the lots is free. also, i assume that the SNY studio is in rockefeller center, so getting out at the bus terminal is probably more convenient than penn station. you could potentially walk to the studio from the port authority, whereas, penn station is not really walking distance. |
