I have lived in a predominantly European area near Fremantle, Western Australia my whole life. The Croatians are generally pretty good, they all accept that they (or previous generations of their family) have come over for a better way of life. Almost every Croatian I know calls them self an Aussie 1st but still are proud of their heritage which is great. It's certain other groups of Immigrants that complain about everything that represents Australia that s the hell out of me.
All through high school I got "You in skip, tut tut tut. Bounce away Skippy!!! WTF??". They diss Cricket, diss Aussie Rules Football, diss surfers, diss our hot women because their women are forced to wear blankets in 44 degree days, diss our history, diss basically anything that has made Australia well.... Australia.
Government statistics released a few years back proves my point rather well. Lebanese have the highest rate of Australian citizenship in this country. Something like 97%. That must show something about their acceptance to our way of life. Most young Lebanese deny their Australian tag, regardless of being able to trace their Aussie origin to migrants that came here 150 years ago. , my family came from France and England 150 years ago but I don't call myself British or French!! But have you ever heard the Lebanese COMPLAIN about Australia. The Cronulla riots were a buildup of years of frustration. I'm not even going to go in to what happened there, look it up if you don't know anything about it. And believe me it wasn't just the white Aussies fighting back, there were a large amount of other Ethnic or even Aboriginal fighting against the Lebanese...
No ones stopping you from going back to your war torn country. |

I kind of agree with both sides. While I'm sure paulie didn't mean every aussie, sadly he's pretty spot on with a large portion of aussies which really is quite sad.
There just isn't enough respect for other cultures and these fluoro/surfie clones just don't help anyone. Sadly though, that's like a majority of white Australia. |

Hehe, grand final AFL is a matter of taste, vegemite is terrible, VB and anyone who likes it should be shot, stubby shorts are not good on anyone, aviator sunnies now belong to the aforementioned fluoro crowd and double pluggers, well yea ok they work.
That may have been the typical aussie decades ago but these days that's the typical bogan that we all hate :p |

Haha ditto. But I have an obesssion with vegemite. On a holiday in the Central Coast last year I ate an entire mini jar from morning to midnight. I agree my taste buds must be out of whack but to me that is the best :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: |

Picking up an Aussie acdent is a very difficult thing to do. I would like to see that happen!
