QUARTERLIFE RECORDS NYC LAUNCHES JANUARY 29th, 2008 AT CIELO IN NEW YORK

(New York, NY) On Tuesday January 29th, the new, cutting-edge record label Quarterlife Records NYC will celebrate its launch at the world-reknowned Cielo nightclub in New York City. Quarterlife Record heads Alex Pearce and DJ EBAR will be DJing all night. The night is an installment of NYC mega-promoters Rob Fernandez and Benny Soto’s popular Dance.Here.Now parties at Cielo and is sponsored by Remix Magazine and IODA Digital Alliance. Quarterlife Records is a New York City-based record label focused on finding, releasing and pushing a wide array of sounds from the dance music world, all with an edgy and raw style true to the NYC underground. With its promo releases the label has already garnered worldwide attention from industry heads and the label is sure to make a significant impact in '08.
Quarterlife’s first release is Indicant's self-titled single "Indicant," which launches worldwide on January 29th. Indicant is a gleaming, polished slice of underground tech/electro house heaven. The Hub Mix is a booming main-floor number with a bouncy cone-shaking bassline and bending 80's-style synth chords. A chopped-up hiphop vocal sample creates a tight background groove along with a peak-hour electricfied arpeggio. The Rub Mix is a shuffling experimental tech-house piece with strange dueling basslines syncopated off of each other on top of a thundering vintage kickdrum and clattering percussive elements. Digweed protege Royal Sapien is on bloodbath duty with his Butchered Remix, a machine-gun of big breakbeat drums and dark bass elements interspersed with his signature progressive elements.
Quarterlife Records seeks to innovate the genre and challenge listeners with non-formulaic approaches to house music. It serves as a platform for emerging artists to be heard and as a vehicle to propel established artists further up the charts. The common denominator between releases is the quality of production and adherence to the aesthetic that Quarterlife embodies; the bangin' electro sound of underground New York City that makes 'em throw their hands in the air.

Quarterlife Records digital releases can be purchased from the world's finest digital retailers including Beatport, iTunes, eMusic, Dance Tracks Digital, Amazon.com, Rhapsody, Napster and Juno.

Thanks guys,

Part of the reason we started this is because we feel that NY does not have the representation that it should on the global music scene. Our vision is to develop a major electronic label that pushes the unique, tough and edgy sound of the NYC music scene.

Besides the first release by Indicant on January 29th we have some pretty major releases lined up with local and international producers alike. Stay tuned....
