If you feel that Tom Cruise not going on a vacation to supposedly 'make the world a better place' is such a noble act, worthy enough of joining the Scientology movement, take a look at what Mother Theresa and her nuns did for helping the poorest of the poor and the most unwanted of all, then consider whether on the scale of positive contribution their actions do not far outweigh this media celebrity's PR stunt.

Mother Theresa and her nuns devoted their whole lives to the helping of the people in the most desperate conditions, sick and dying old beggars on the streets of India and orphaned children who no one wanted; they lived among them and cared for them daily with their own hands. If you feel that someone's actions (which are sometimes only supposedly) geared toward 'helping people' provide a worthy enough cause to join any religious or sectarian movement, then at least judge them on the true good actions and real positive difference they made, not on just some gibberish talk... remember, just words are cheap!

was it just me or was he just basically rambling on about nothing the whole time? or was I just not paying attention?

What Abercrombie posted is in dispicable:whip:

But i've found the best way for me to deal with Scientology is simple: ignore them.

They're a farce and its disgusting what they are all about... I just don't let myself be bothered

i think you may have missed my sarcasm when i wrote that...lol...i absolutely agree with you that his wanting to help people, PR stunt or not, in no way measures up to the real work that others (Mother Theresa et all) have done to help those less fortunate......the thing that really turns me off from scientology, or any religion for that matter is this crazy fundamentalist behaviour...that tries to force people into converting/accepting their truth when they themselves wind up distorting whatever positive message may have originally been there to begin with......

Has somebody actually verified all the allegations on that animated gif though?

There's at least two sides to every story.

Oh I see then, so you meant this thread to be taken sarcastically the whole time? I guess I didn't know, cause I didn't watch the Tom Cruise video - I am totally uninterested. I thought you were serious :nervous:

I agree with this too... except that I don't believe that scientology ever brought anything good to society - as you can see from Abercrombie's video, I think the intentions of the original founder of this sect, and of many of his followers, were and are very murky and despicable, and are reflective more of the desire to exploit and harm people rather than to help them.
