the djs that play at burning man are very insignificant in the concept and community of burning man. there have been some big names that have made it out there, such as christopher lawrence, tiesto, paul oakenfold, lee coombs and others, but this is just a bonus of being at the event.
burning man is a gifting community created to inspire absolute freedom of the human will. it started with a small group of people on baker beach in san francisco and has now grown to 50,000 people occupying Black Rock City in nevada. it is a place where the most creative art work is made and displayed for just one week. personally, it is the greatest feeling of collectiveness i have ever experienced and there is no other place in the world that gives you the same feeling. there are no plain people at burning man. every single person is full of love and spirit that you cant help but feel at home there. there is no quick way of describing burning man so here are some pics from 07.

cubetron (made of ping pong balls and LEDs)

| i wanna go so bad!!!!!! it just sucks that it's the second week of school and they frown upon teachers taking a week off of school after having the whole summer off. ugh!!! but still. i may try to go that thursday-monday since it's labor day weekend if not this year then next!!! |

My co-worker's cousin (girl) goes every year and always has a blast. I know of people that have gone (their 1st time) for a few days and have said they're going back but for a much longer time. They've all said it was an awesome experience!
It's not all about partying and getting all fugged up but more about what Calmlikeabomb said, "absolute freedom of the human will!"
There's different things to do, different types of music being playing, and of course different people from everywhere that you can meet. I haven't been to it but I can only imagine what a feeling it must be to be there, be part of it and enjoy it all!
:D
