I agree with most of these. I also liked John Harrion's version of Dune. It was pretty much spot on, especially the dialogue; though they could have made a better choice for Baron Harkonnen.
As for Atlas Shrugged, that's been in the works for years. The newest one is supposed to have Pitt and Jolie playing Galt and Dagny.

Should be interesting to see how it turns out....I'm looking forward to it. Have a massive crush on the book, lol. |

Even though I don't like her, Natalie Portman would be awesome for Dagny Taggart and perhaps Christian Bale for Hank Rearden... |
I don't think Portman is right for the role either. I never pictured Dagny to be so overtly beautiful. I think Pitt would be great as Galt, and I think the thing that would make him and Jolie work as the duo is their chemistry together. There has to be that arrogant passion there.
edit: Yeah Bale would be awesome as Rearden. And what about Frisco??
edit edit: I always imagined a young Kate Beckinsale a la 'Haunted' when I pictured Dagny in my mind. |

Apocalypse Now. I think it's even better than Heart of Darkness.
One that hasn't been mentioned: The Thing, adapted from Who Goes There by John W. Campbell. |

I don't think Natalie Portman is particularly good looking.
She was very confident and imperious as Amidala in Star Wars, hence why I think she would be a good Dagny - who also has that arrogant, independent streak.
Johnny Depp would be a good Francisco I think. He's a good actor and has the dark spanish-y looks to suit the role. |

Yeah he would be good...too old perhaps. But it's Depp, and he can do anything.
I still disagree about Portman. :p |

One that definitely shouldn't be made into a film:
Ken Follett - Pillars of the earth
Far too good to be raped on screen. I still need to get my hands on 'World without end', though. |
