Trance Addict Trance Energy 2008 Gathering in Amsterdam (February 23rd)
View this Thread in Original format

For the people going to Trance Energy next month :toocool:

Last year it was a great succes :)
This year there will be another gathering, organized by me :toocool:

A great opportunity to meet TA's from different countries.

Last year TA's from USA, Canada, Italy, Malta, Holland, Argentina and some other countries joined it :)

Location of the gathering will be Amsterdam again.
Most of you are staying in Amsterdam, so that's easy.

Trance Energy is starting at 22:00hrs. The doors going open at 21:00hrs and it will be sold out, so we will be going a bit earlier by train to Utrecht, most of you have to buy a train ticket.
It's 15-20 minutes by train and 5 minutes walk from Utrecht Central Station to the Jaarbeurs, so we will leave no later than 20:30hrs by train.
I guess everybody wants to be inside the Jaarbeurs venue between 21:45hrs and 22:00hrs.

I will print out the original flyer of Trance Energy:

So when you come to the gathering and you see me standing with the flyer in my hand, you will know that it's the TA gathering :)

DETAILS

TIME: 19:30 hours
CITY: Amsterdam
LOCATION: Damsquare, by the statue. See picture below:

Any questions about the gathering, just post them here and I will try to answer them :)

So if you want to join the gathering, please copy the list, add your name and post the new list, so everybody can see who's joining it :D

Will the gathering be on Friday night or Saturday? I thought I had read something in one of the forums about a Friday night gathering at Dam Square? I'll actually be coming from Noord Holland (Schagen, to be exact) and will probably be traveling by car on Saturday night.

Anyway, just let me know and I'll try and make the meetup. If it is on Saturday and anybody wants to get together somewhere on Friday as well, just let me know. I find that it's a lot easier to meet people and actually get to know each other when there's a little more time and everyone's not rushing to the party. I arranged a meetup like that at the last Berlin Love Parade and still keep in touch with some very good friends I met there from across the world!

Oh, and thanks for organizing the meetup! I look forward to meeting everyone and having the best time at Trance Energy! :)

The gathering is on Saturday. That's why I mentioned about the time we have to leave by train to Utrecht ;)

I will be meeting people I know on Friday as well. Having Pizza or Shoarma and drinking in a bar somewhere :)

You're welcome. Looking forward seeing the people I know again and meet new people :).
After last year I wanted to organize it one more time, since this is going to be my last Trance Energy living in Holland, so the 15th edition is going to be special for me. Future Trance Energy events I have to fly from the USA :)

Yes, that would make sense (but I did hear that there's some other pre-party on Friday night, I thought it was in Utrecht also). Not sure I can make the Saturday meetup, will have to see if I can talk my 3 friends into all taking the train instead of driving together (I think that may be the only option, as I know that parking's a b*tch in Amsterdam most of the time, and on Saturday night it should be impossible!)

If you'd like some company, just let us know where! I can PM you my NL cell phone number (Orange), but will be getting a Lebara card a few days within my arrival (which will be on 14 February, btw, I'm making a vacation out of the trip!) Any places you'd recommend visiting in February welcome (I've been to NL 4 times before and have seen a good number of the popular cities). The Museumkaart seems like a great thing to have, then if the weather's unbearable I can still spend all day in the museums! :)

Wow, that must be an exciting change! I've thought of moving to Holland, but my friends who live there seem to think that I wouldn't like it so much. :nervous:

In any event, I love visiting and will be great meeting you and the other TA's for Trance Energy! :D

Yes there is a Pre-Trance Energy party on Friday in Utrecht:

Parking is not a problem on Saturday in Utrecht @ Jaarbeurs. A lot of parking lots, especially parking lot P1 is big.
Train is maybe a better option. The party is until 7am and the first trains back to Amsterdam are leaving around 7:30am, if I'm correct.

PM me your number :)
We will keep in touch. I will PM back my number and also my gmail address.

How long do you stay in Holland? You ever visit Arnhem? That's the city where I live. Nice city too. I can recommend you things to see.
Which cities did you visit already?

Yes it is. I'm going to move to Ft Lauderdale in Florida. My fiance lives there, whom I met more than 3 years ago in Holland with Tiesto in Concert II :)
Can't wait to live there :toocool:

Sounds great. The number I send you will be my Orange SIM card that I bought in 2006. It should still work when I get there unless Orange started expiring their cards (when I bought it, there was no expiration).

Soon as I can find one, I'll get a new Lebara SIM card instead though. Calls are a lot cheaper, especially back to the States (9 cents landline/12 cents mobile!) I bought one of those in 2006 as well, and it was one of the greatest deals I ever got in NL! Lebara expires the cards after 9 months without any top-offs, so I'll PM you my new Lebara number as well around 14-15 February once I get it.

I'll be there for 11 days, coming back Monday after TE. I've visited Schagen, Haarlem, Leiden, Alkmaar, Zandvoort am Zee, Maastricht, Texel, Amsterdam, and have spent just a few hours in Utrecht, Den Haag, Breda (Magik Muzik store was closed, dammit, but I did have some good Stamppot there!) and Zoetermeer. Also went to the Zuiderzee Museum and the Keukonhof Gardens.

I've never visited Anhem, or many of the cities east of Amsterdam though. Seems that cities with a lot of museums may be the best, so that way I can stay warm! I have a 5-day Holland train pass, so will use that for the longer trips that exceed about 22EUR, otherwise my pass is cheaper. If any of my friends have the Voordeelurenabonnement pass, I think that would be ideal for our train travel to Utrecht, since it's 40% off including 3 other people for off-peak travel!

Wow, that's an amazing story. I met my friends in Noord Holland back in 1999 because I put a song of theirs on my website and they emailed me back to say thanks. Now we're friends 6 years later and have visited each other across the Atlantic several times. Power to the music! :D

If it's a prepaid card, most of the providers have 1 year as expiration period. So it could be that your Orange number doesn't work anymore.

You visit a lot of places already. Oh and by the way: It's Zandvoort aan Zee, not am Zee, that's German :p

You liked the stamppot? :)

Here in the east of Holland you have nice cities too.
Arnhem is having a nice museum: The Open Air Museum, don't know if it's open during winter season, don't think so.
Nijmegen is also a beautiful city. the oldest city of Holland: 2000 years old. Build during the Roman Empire.
