Haha, this is quickly spiraling into awkwardness, but glad you enjoyed the set! I have not seen this thread that you speak of, but it's a great quote regardless :) |

For those that dont know yet Jon O'Bir has an upcoming artist album
"From Within" forthcoming in April/May 2008. He will also be touring worldwide for this upcoming album and looks forward to seeing all of you very soon and rocking the dancefloor once more. |

Apologies for a bit of a belated review:
Heather -- Got there early, so I was able to catch all of Heather's set. In spite of the pressure and "nerves," she really got the crowd going. And then some. By 11:00, the side room was shoulder to shoulder, and everyone was bopping along to a really eclectic house mix -- the classic "owner of a lonely heart" graham remix was a standout for me.
Zack -- Officially set the record for the most individual sets in one night; yet, the quality was there from the start. I heard a few classic progressive house records to start the night. Later, we were given a glimpse of a new production, as well as the Noel Sanger remix of the debut -- Double Overhead. Lots of other gems, played throughout the night, including the Wize remix of Itajai Vibes and a personal favorite, Micali & Ajami's "Aerobics," to close...
Chris -- Unfortunately, the set coincided with O'bir, but I really liked what I heard. "Long Way Down" is another great Sanger track that Chris managed to finesse into this set.
Keryn -- Nice little cameo in the side room. Also, extra points for playing my favorite release of the winter season: Talisman & Hudson - Leaving Planet Earth (Dousk Remix)
Mike -- Caught the second half, and really enjoyed what I heard. Lots of energy on the electro and tech house tip, including a vocal John Dahlback (?) track which really had me going...
Frank -- Had to follow O'bir, which was certainly the dirtiest job of the night. That being said -- probably received an equally strong crowd response. The tech house genre is a bit of a personal Achilles heel; however, in spite of not knowing the tracks, I could certainly appreciate the energy Frank brought to the table. Once the bass dropped during the opener, the whole place truly exploded. I have fond memories of Marcello literally dancing around the room during the opening hour of this set. And, yes, the rumors are true: Frank finished the night with a succession of trance anthems, opening with the Oliver Smith remix of Shapes. Needless to say, the O'bir and Philly crowd went berserk.
O'bir -- Just incredible. I had heard great things about O'bir, but, I would have to agree that his name deserves to be put up there with the heavyweights (very reminiscent of Above & Beyond). He opened with a remix of an original production (which hopefully will not remain an "ID" for too much longer), followed by "Anticipation (!)" "The Horizon," "Oceanic" (in no particular order), and other monster releases from the past year. Sam and I were on the brink of cardiac arrest throughout this set.
So great being part of this event -- See you all on the 9th. |

| It was someone's birthday that night (or some other day), but I took this video as a spontaenous action while she was "trying" to blow out the candles. I won't post it on youtube, but here's a direct link to the vid. |
