Thought you lot might like to hear this track. I made this in about 5 hours yesterday and through the early hours of this morning I tweaked it a little.
It's different.

| Nice work, Kre8! I like that lead sound - it really gives the track a unique sound. I'm curious to know how you got that sound - is it a square tone being rapidly PWM'ed by another square tone? The mix sounds pretty good, but given the shortness of the song, I assume that the track is still in its infancy, so I won't annoy you with petty comments about the mix. I hope you expand on this idea - I'd love to hear a longer version. |

It's a home-made patch consisting of 2 Subtractors (4 saws across 2 octaves with higher saws detuned and +7 semi tones) and one malstrom (one saw and one square across two octaves.) This signal is then mixed in a line mixer and has various amounts of EQ, phase, unison and chorus thrown at it via auxiliaries. The result is then sidechained to the kick and combined with LFO panning delay then reverb.
The track is pretty much complete, it is short because it is a sample. I'd like comments about the mix please :) What else would you like to hear in it?

Sorry, I'd love to hand it out for nothings but I've had interest from a few parties regarding releases so I'm keeping you all on sample for the minute :D When I find out, I'll tell you where you can download it from.

:D This is amazing:D I can't help grinning. the mix is slick anough in my opinion, it might be a little bass heavy, you maybe should emphasise the low mids a bit more, or add more low mids to that lead sound. But its fantastic otherwise. How did you get the lead sound to swell in parts like that? Did you modulate the envelope? Sometimes it sounds like a pluck and sometimes like a sustained lead, its cool.
I really like the popkorn sound in the background there, it really adds a nice minimal sort of vibe to it.
It reminds me of the stuff that Max Graham is playing at the moment, which is a good thing. I'd send it to him if I was you, its definately worth signing. :D one more grin for good measure. |
