Any advice on how to sort live sets on your iPod? Like grouping all sets by same DJ under the same "Album" or whatever...what has worked best for you?

Yeah..that works.

Under Album..I just use "Live Sets" and it'll list all Live sets that I have...

Or if you want just name it "LS - Artist Name" if you have tons of live sets...

I don't use iPod but what I usually do when I tag these is this:

Album Artist/Ensemble/Band: Various Artists (for DJ mixes/etc)
Artist: the DJ who mixed it
Album: YYYY-MM-DD: Live from/at [event name], [location]
Title: Invidual track title (if present; if it's one big file, I use the album info here)
Year/Date: either YYYY-MM-DD, YYYY-MM, or just the year of recording (most accurate info available)
Disc & Track Number: the relevant info requested, if available
Genre: Closest genre or style of the music
Comments: Other miscellaneous info about the file

Filling in all of this info would help keeping the sorting straight on tag-based devices & software. The first field is usually hardest to fill in because many taggers don't even have it. In Foobar2000, you wouldneed to create a 'BAND' field and put the info in there for it to show up under Album Artist in iTunes & the iPods.

Yeah, that's what I've been doing so far but I started to wonder if there's a better way.

Well, for example I have 1 Jay Lumen set but I have 33 Desyn Masiello sets...so it depends, but I think I have 100+ sets.

Edit: Just checked and I have 157 just in 'House'. I have to add all the other ones I have in different genres so it's probably over 300.

i tend to seperate my live sets on my ipod; if have 5 or more of a DJ then the DJ will have his own folder for live sets; anything under 5 will be in a Misc. folder
Dr. DAS
Music > Artists > Name of set

I usually decide what I want to listen to by the name of the DJ, then pick the et I want.

OK, thanks for the suggestions...I'll see which one works best.
