computer trouble

hey; so not sure if this would be the right forum, but figured this was most visited so i'd get an answer faster
i recently started having some difficulty with my screen...like there were these small green pixels flickering on the screen with certain colors (i attached a picture of an example)...does anybody have any solution to fix this? is it my video card? screen? cable? ??
i've searched google to some extent but haven't found a permanent solution
i was thinking it might be because i was playing crysis, and my video card overheated, but does anyone else have other ideas?

| what kind of monitor do you have? and yes, graphical artifacts are normally the first sign of overheating. |

| I'd put my money on it being graphics card related... Most faulty monitors that I come across either have zero display or no power at all. |

Sounds like the video card. You're not overclocking it, are you?
Open up the case and see if the fan on the video card is spinning. If it isn't, there may be dust or something else is causing it not to. |

the thing is, cards should only be overheating when youre playing games. a graphics card should never ever overheat if youre just sitting in windows.
do you have any other PCs in nearby? plug your monitor into them and see if the problem remains, then you can narrow it down. |

yea; i got a couple of notices that the video card was a little above temp when i was playing crysis, but it didn't happen all the time, so i didn't think too much of it at the time...
no other monitor, but i'll try to get one from work tomorrow |

in that case do what has been suggested, check the airflow in your box and ensure your heatsink is working properly. |
