DJM 800 issue

Just got a new DJM 800 and 2 800 mk2's, only one problem. When i play effects i can only hear them on the headphones and not on the speakers, I've got the effect channel selected, so it isn't cfr or on master, I've played with the effect volume so it isn't a volume issue, then again with me hearing effects on headphones, that wouldn't make sense.
So if anyone can guide me out here I'd be appreciative, also I dont have any digital cables yet, I dunno if that has to do with it. |

well no doubt you have a setting wrong on the mixer.
shouldnt it have master selected?

you should of got that cable with the decks i know i did. |

| The digital cable does not come with the decks - just a standard phono cable comes with them - I had to purchase my digi cables separately. |

| well no no digital cables came with mine and I dont know if its conclusive but i dont have any cables plugged in behind in the master "part" only on decks 1 and 2 do i have cables plugged in. |

The digital cables,whether you got them or not,have nothing at all to do with the fx on your mixer.:)
Now i'm not sure of how well you know the mixer,as it may be a litle daunting if it's your first time using it.The only thing I can think of off the top of my head, is that perhaps you didn't trigger the fx by pressing the effect button/trigger(the orange circle on the bottom right).Apologies if it sounds simple,but many people who've not used the mixer before can get tripped up with it.
Apart from that,maybe try the following:
-Play a track though channel 1 for example.
-Set the channel on the beat effects panel to channel 1.
-Select an effect such as filter,roll etc.
-Select/modify your time with the beat select buttons or time parameter.
-Select the level/depth parameter to around halfway,to ensure you hear the effect.
-Hit the effect button/trigger on(flashing).This should activate the effect.
If that doesn't work,it may perhaps be a fault with your mixer,if it plays in headphones but not out the master? :) |
