If she never goes anywhere without a leash on (which is more than a fair assumption, since she refused to do it to get on a bus), it's far more likely that she doesn't try to work, or is prevented from doing so by her slavish (lol) adherence to her lifestyle choice. |

I do like how you refer to her as mentally insane - I hadn't really thought of that.
Regardless, I think I feel the same way about this situation as I do the Scientologists - it's mostly harmless and an easy indication of who qualifies as a "weak link" in society.
If she were certifiably insane, I might feel a little different about mocking her - but I'm confident she might not be, and is thus lumped in with the rest of the kids who are trying ultra hard to get noticed. |

i guess there is a clear boundary between mentally insane and extreme attention whore.
since we can only assume which she is, i'll probably agree with your judgement.

- DISAPPROVING be sb's pet to be the person that someone in authority likes best and treats better than anyone else
- INFORMAL APPROVING a kind person who is easy to like
- UK INFORMAL an affectionate way of addressing someone, especially a woman or a child
In no moment, she claimed to be a dog (and it doesn't seem to be a meaning implied by the word "pet"). Her boyfriend just kept her on a lead, she said she was a pet girl, and was walking the same way we would walk, clothed, on her feet... the only thing "abnormal" about her was that polemic piece of jewelry. She never gave up her "humanity", so to speak (we're animals too, aren't we?).
