hay guise!
ive got a numark dxm-06. it's in the same room as my computer now, so i'm going to run it through my soundcard, then back out to my monitors (so i can record my sets at will).
now, i was thinking i'd just use the master out, but the dxm has a "record" out too. from what i can tell, this has a limiter on it and will bypass the master volume knob. is there any reason i wouldnt want to use this? |

| use the record out. i know i would unless i had to have a 20 meter wire to be able to reach my sound card. that's why i use the mix1 out, which on my mixer is balanced, like my sound card inputs. :) ;) |

| You won't be able to control the master volume through the mixer if you use record out, so control it with your amp/power source. |

It's not limited, it's basically set to -6dB in terms of volume. If you set the gain properly for each track (every channel should hit 0dB max - a lot of dj's seem not to be smart enough to understand that).
The record out should rarely hit 0dB when mixing 2 tracks because it's set to -6dB. This means your recordings will not clip, thus it's a perfect recording output ;). |
