There really is almost no reason to get insurance on phones even if they're expensive. The company almost never honours it, and if they do it's always for far less than you actually paid for the phone so you have to downgrade.

I you not.

I've had it since 2003 or 2004... it still works pretty well and all I need a phone for is to make calls. I can't justify spending $300 on something shmancy when I've got something that still operates fine.

EDIT:

And it's built to withstand a ing war zone. I have dropped this phone a million times, have dropped it in snow/water, left it sitting in the sun for hours, etc.etc. and it still works.

If you did that to 98% of the phones you get now, the phone would already be in the garbage.

well actually i never even had insurance with them, but i doubt they would have replaced at full cost, even if i had insurance.

aka the one you get free
my last phone, oh man i loved it. it fell out of my pocket in a friend's driveway once, it was 5 days before i found it. in those 5 days, it rained twice then snowed once, and it got ran over. the battery was dead when i found it so i let it dry overnight, then charged it a bit and it worked fine :)
