Often the plugin-options. And also speed. It's more flexible in general.
I prefer Opera though :) |

Firefox tends to have ALOT less vulnerable holes than does IE. Opera is pretty good too. Only complaint I have with FF lately is that it tends to be a memory hog, but FF 3.0 is rumored to address this. In the meantime, haven't used IE in years, and I don't miss it because it does nothing other than crash and suck (and not necessarily in that order).
I use:
Firefox
Opera
Pidgin
uTorrent
iTunes (sigh)
Starcraft |

so if you say IE crashes a lot you must not use ff 2.0...cause that crashes a ton. ff3.0 crashes less than 2! I use 3 as my primary browser (at least when im not on the net via my phone like I am now anyways) and it is slightly less of a resource hog but not by a ton.
oh and for those that use pidgin (formerly gaim)...it really does suck. at least for msn it does. you can't even message people while in invisible mode! |

i am usually in "Away" mode anyways, rather than "Invisible". never really tried to message people in "Invisible" mode. hah. people here who know me i am on constant 24/7 Away mode anyways, because i am usually logged in 24/7 and in and out. |

Render stuff properly.
Not technically a program, but many programs depend on the network connection.
Also, the 'run' command dialog. This is the one thing I look for in a desktop environment, and don't really use any other program menus all that much. |
