what tends to turn me off about anime, is that they usually start with a great premise and the first couple of episodes suck you in, but then they don't know what to do with it, and end up giving you a crappy ending.

Naruto is like the DBZ of this generation. too much talking, not enough fighting. no i don't want to see you cry, again, kick his ass already. FECK!!!
that's what sets Cowboy Bebop a part from the rest for me.
Great characters. Spike, badass. Vicious, coolest bad guy eva.
Ed and Ein, great for comedic effect. Jet, decent wing man.
Julia, HOT. Fey, HOT!!
Each episode is different. Comedy, Suspense, Horror, Action, Drama.
all in on series.

Don't forget the music. Oh the sweet, sweet music. Who would have thought jazz and sci-fi could make such a jaw-dropping combination. Yoko Kanno is only a step below John Williams in compositional ability. |

Yoko Kanno is a freaking musical genius. I love her work, whatever genre she does, it's top notch. i guess that's a real artist there.

| i have a friend that's pretty big on anime. she works at this convention in chicago every year and she's gotten me to watch some of it. i saw death note and thought it was pretty good for awhile. black lagoon was pretty good. darker than black was kind of good but also really weird at the end. she really likes full metal alchemist but i didn't see it from the beginning so i don't really understand it. |
