Beatport - Sadly Lacking These 2 Key Features

In my opinion these 2 features (closely related) would not only make Beatport functionality better for us all - it would also undoubtedly have the effect of increasing revenue for Beatport too.

In addition I am sure that I am not the first person to think of this, in fact back in the days when I used GEMM I made use of this very useful feature.

How many of us listen to live sets or promo sets? A fair few, and a fair few tracks turn out to be promo copies, not yet released. If we were able to register artist and/or track title and be emailed as new releases become available matching the criteria we had entered then that would mean we wouldn't need to keep a text file with all our desired unreleased tracks and monotonously check for them every few weeks.

Either that or being emailed when our 'Favorite Artists' release a new track, which is almost the same thing.

Who's with me?

I also wish they had a "Wishlist" function, i find it really annoying when I find a song I really like that I want to buy then, but I might have 20 other songs already in my basket that I want to wait to purchase. I also find the song titles when you download them incredibly annoying, I know they have the ID3 tags, but I manually change the file names to sort them easier, I wish it just said the Artist - Song (remix), instead of the 34234_waaa_bla_bla stuff.

Some say that the best way to achieve this is to have a secondary account that you use as a wishlist, and just place all your 'wishlist' into your basket. That way you can keep track easier.... In some ways I can understand Beatport not implementing a proper wishlist as it would mean that people were more likely to 'hold off' buying tracks rather than just going for the easy option of paying for all tracks that were currently in the basket.

I always think of 'the bottom line'.......! That's a salesman for you!

Yeah, wishlist is definitely the biggest thing they need to add. I have two accounts, but I was royally screwed when they recently redid their credit card verification and my wishlist account was lost. :whip:

wishlist is definately needed. With the time it takes to d/l wav's I often need to cull my basket to get the tracks I want right now. I would probably buy the tracks I cut at a later time, but now I have to simply remove them to get the ones I want.

would be nice if you could save your checkout list and then buy certain ones at different times. so when you have a build up of 60 tracks you dont have to buy all at once.

agreed.
and also a direct url feature ;P

It annoys me how the whole website is run as a sort of java object so you can't right click and 'open as new window' on tracks.

Also, it should have a better player that lets you cue tracks up.

Wishlist! When are they going to add this? It's so frustrating trying to remember or write down all the tracks in your basket and going back to purchase them. The customer shouldn't have to do that much work. I like the two accounts idea - but still - the 'wishlist' feature is such a standard function on 99.9% of shopping sites it's ridiculous that Beatport doesn't adopt it as well. They're losing tons of money by not adding it. ing add it already, port! It's been my biggest pet peeve about the site since I joined.
