Some questions...
This is the sound generated by the famous TB-303 correct?
Any other synths do acid sounds?
How good is Rebirth at mimicking the TB-303?
Basically I want to know as much about acid as possible. |

COrrect, this is the most famous bassline produced by Roland TB 303.
The TB sequencer is NOT the only one that can make such sound. There are so called 303 clones that make similar tone. U can even make one yourself if u know how. Most of the clones are much cheaper but the quality of the sound, most of the time, is not as good as the original acid.
Most Popular clones:
Rebirth (IT'S THE CLOSEST (!) TO THE ORIGINAL TONE)
TEE-BEE MK3
TBs-303
FB-303 (midi control ONLY)
MB-303 (same as FB but with SQ-16 sequencer included)
FR-777
MS-404
ATC-1
MAB-303 (monophonic bassline)
ROLAND MC-202 (mono ONLY)
ROLAND JUNO 106
Various by Yamaha (CS -> 15 -> 20 ->30)
Now, what else do u want to know? |

Just need to confirm:
I'm not sure but didn't Hardfloor (Ramon Zenker & Oliver Bondzio) produce acid trax in the early '90s..? |

| They started in 1991 and were making acid until 1997... when they switched to house and created another, much less original 'da damn phreak noize phunk' project:crazy: |

yeah, hardfloor's acperience 1 in mid to late 92 sort of re-energised acid and zillions of clones followed. i still remember hearing it for the first time ... what an epic : ).
i believe phuture's acid trax was one of the first acid tracks that started acid house in the late eighties. not to say that this was THE first acid track but rather, what started the genre. |
