After the huge success of the launch, The Last Sunday presents "The Second Last Sunday of the Month" @ La Di Da FT: Koma & Bones (uk), Plus The return of Phil K back to Melbourne for an extended 3hr set.
Koma & Bones (UK)
Koma and bones are a three man outfit from the north west of England. Its been 6 years since they first hit the headlines on a then fledgeling breaks scene with their remix of the seminal house track, the phoenix by scott hardkiss. Within months the guys were snapped up by rennie pilgrims seminal breakbeat label tcr.
Through the next few years koma and bones went onto produce two critically acclaimed artist albums on tcr - blinded by science and shutterspeed while finding time to mix a stunning y4k and the u.s. equivalent - nu horizons mix cd. This would have been enough output for most but not k&b. Over the last few years their remix work reads like a who’s who of dance music with such luminaries as new order, mousse t, kosheen, xpress-2 and bassbin twins all receiving the treatment.
Phil K (First show back in Melb!) 3 hr set
We are also extremely proud to present Phil K in his first show back in Melbourne after his long absence, The Last Sunday bring him back home!
The term ‘pioneer’ is brandied about too readily in dance music but for Phil K, the term is just right in so many ways. Born, bred and based in Melbourne, Phil has been lending his services to the dance floor since way back in 1985 when he started as a mobile DJ playing all the party classics. A combination of ugly drunk secretaries, a few flat Bah mitzvahs and the acid house exclusion lured the young DJ from functions to the murky depths of clubs. Thank God too because since that move, Phil K has turned the clubbing experience into something different altogether.
Sunday February 17th is where its at, with local support from Gavin Keitel, Mike Callander Rollin Connection, Lister Cooray & Paulie C, Smile on Impact, Stray, Citizen.com, Lynt, Jason Prasad + more this really is your new Sunday arvo barbie.
Once again entry will be $15 on the guestlist (more on the door), email your FULL NAMES to [email protected]
