I was there the week before for Andre Solaris and it was chaos behind the bar. The place was packed and the lonely bartender was swamped. Alot of people got free drinks that did'nt have wristbands. She really did'nt have time to check or she just did'nt care. I actually got behind the bar a few times and grabbed beers for me and my friends that I knew had wristbands and tipped her well. That may have something to do with why they stopped doing it. At the same time it's bad business to promote it and change your mind at the last minute. |

At the time I posted this information, the special was still valid. There will be drink specials in effect which will actually even things out pretty well.
As for losing the special, we were aware it was not a permanent special, however it was pulled immediately and without notice to me, Andy or Mark or Shu for that matter.
Staff has shifted within North Beach (and hence Wax) and they have decided to rearrange a few things that are still being settled. The drink special has occurred every Friday for over 6 months now and has been promoted the same the entire time. If we knew earlier, it would have never been mentioned. |

And regardless, it's still for them to have pulled it out from us the moment the night started, especially considering that's a big part of the reason a lot of people make it through the door. |

I showed up to see Shu, Rob & Mathias spin and hang out and first thing I did when I got to the door was bust out $30 to get a wristband, only to hear that they no longer exist, so Andrew Mark & me would've gone into this Friday with financial commitments based on the wristbands without knowing this had there not been an awesome lineup last week to check out. I had heard some chick was managing the place after the last manager left and now apparently it's some guy who doesn't answer any questions definitively & doesn't get back about things we need to know about. Bottom line is the Fusion parties have been taking off with good friends and DJs willing to play & support, which is greatly appreciated and they'll defintely continue even if they need a new home sometime in the future, but Wax or aparently some guy is calling it Vivid on Saturdays (like the tree falling if no one's there to hear it...does the club really have a name if there's no sign or anything formally advertsing it?) is going to have to get their act together. Shu always throws a good party too and deserves mad props for dealing with this e too. The guy who came up with the whole Wax concept was a great guy and wanted to do a lot for local electronic music, just didn't have a lot of funds to work with, now it's a bit of a mystery as to what these new people are doing.
In any case Nosmo is gonna rock it this week much like he did @ Uptown Lounge last weekend and we'll have Brent Brewer from Exact and Avex Axiom later this month and I suppose they'll have $3 mixed vodka drinks since they had them last week. If they don't, I'll go down the street to Sam's and get everyone a bottle of Jager or something. Cover will be free with guestlist for sure so feel free to email me at [email protected]. |

| FYI, can't confirm what the specials will be just yet but there's now some collective discussion going on to reinstate something good in place of the wristband special. |

Hey, I just saw that Brent is playing his own night...I thought that it was the same night as Avex. It'll be cool to check out what Brent plays when he's got no restrictions... looking forward to it.:) |

Thanks again, yeah, we don't have too much time each show but trying to bring in a diverse lineup so it's fresh each time. Hopefully will get some more hours open soemday!
DRINK SPECIAL UPDATE; we finally got ahold of the manager and there will sadly indeed be no more wristbands, so for tomorrow with Nosmo the deal is:
$10 cover (also includes 2 drink tickets)
Or RSVP/show my text for $5 cover (will still include 2 drink tickets, so think of it as 2 $2.50 drinks & no cover)
$3 domestics/$4 premium drinks will also be available all night, so it shouldn't be pricey.
Sorry for all the changes & ineptness of this club, it'll still be a lot of fun though and just hit me up @ [email protected] for $5 off, so it'll still be a great temporary deal while we iron out some.permanent issues with these cats. |

| Well, despite some issues with the venue we're not about to give up on the next few big shows we've got lined up. Fusion always has good music and a good vibe, and we'll still have drink specials running the whole night, so tomorrow is definitely worth checking out. |
