does anyone know how to put exact values for, lets say the release option on the fruity compressor? because when i turn the knob it skips values that i want to put, even when i try to hold CTRL + turn the knob, does anyone know how to input these exact values?

thanks

you can't put exact values.. which is kinda gay. but a 0.3db skip or a 5ms skip wont make a huge difference anyways.
barnes17
dang that is gay, i know it shouldn't make a difference but I like having things 'correct' in my mind lol

not even in FL7?

You cant mate, well not to my knowledge anyway.

The FL standard effects arent too clever tbh, try some 3rd party fx, they'll give you a much nicer sound

If you are really anal about it, you can get it right after a few attempts, but its not worth it imo.
MaX_TrAnCeX
crap...

o well, does anyone know any third party compressors?
Ry Thomas
You will probably be able to find some freeware stuff on par with FL compressor if you try Google. I think Endorphin is free and pretty good

If your willing to pay then the list is endless . . .

Sonnox Oxford
Sonalksis
Waves SSL
Waves API
Wave Arts
Fab Filter Pro . . . . . .

My list however was not endless:toothless

thanks man

Not a problem:)

are you using fruity compressor or fruity multiband compressor?

multiband compressor is MUCH better and far more accurate than the older compressor

MaX_TrAnCeX
yeah i tried multiband compressor, but it looks so complicated i dont know what half the things do. i guess i could get more accurate sounds compressing seperate bands... do many people use this?

If you have a midi controller with knobs you might be able to, I'm not positive though. Like the knob you want to the controller and some of those controllers move in really small increments. Not positive about this though
