... How does it get to the store? Big rig? Thought so... |
You are absolutely correct. However, it comes in on the same trailer as the rest of the dry grocery freight. That big rig would still be driving with or without the pallet of water on it. Your argument there is invalid. |

Yea, but if that truck weren't holding 20 pallates of water... then the OTHER truck thats bringing the rest of the groceries that wouldn't fit because of the water wouldn't be necessary... you gotta look at the big picture. NOTHING travels for free. |

You're talking to someone who works in a grocery store and unloads the freight trucks every other night of the week. There are three brands of bottled water that we carry. Each of these comes in on their own pallet (one pallet each). We get two trailers in for our dry grocery freight, both are filled 100% full. If you take those three pallets out of the equation then you will have one of two scenarios.
A.) There's a space where three pallets would be. There would still be two trailers.
B.) They would fill that space with other product.
This isn't a small store, either. We do a large volume of sales compared to most stores in our region. |

I was born in Colombia, so no I'm not.
I'm glad other people know where I was born, I don't know what I'd do other wise. |

Oh trust me... I put in my several years of service to retail. You also have to consider that for a lot of outlets (specifically smaller stores) those trucks hit multiple stops... so there is NEVER any empty space in a truck. |
