Reason 4 Refill: Virus TI Hypersaw

I made this refill from multisamples of a patch I made on my Virus TI. It's a heavily detuned and fat hypersaw, sort of like the 'Airbase - Genie' lead.
Unfortunately it requires Reason 4. I would have made it in Reason 3, but I don't have it installed anymore.
Enjoy! :)

These patches sound pretty good. What gets me about Reason is I'd like to see somebody recreate this using the Reason synths. I used Reason for years for its simplicity but I've just never heard its synths creating great unique textures which is why I've switched to Virus and VST's.
Maybe it can be done with massive amounts of wiring but I can't be bothered!!
anyway nice patches. |

I think it turned out even better than my Virus patch. It's a bit tough on the CPU because there's five thor synths running in unison.
You can even use this combi for other thor patches. Simply load your desired thor patch in the "C" device within the combi. Then right click on it and choose "copy patch". Then paste that patch on the L1, L2, R1 and R2 devices. Finally turn the filter and detune knobs on the combi to reinitialize them. |

Well you definitely managed to create a hypersaw which sounds pretty good and yes probably as good as the sampled one. Well done. Thanks for sharing.
You did confirm my last sentence though. The number of devices & wiring you've used is indredible. No wonder I was never satisfied with my patches. I would never have thought to add so many layers!!
I don't know. The fact I can load a single patch into a vst and create the same thing does have it's advantages. Although I might look at your patch and see what else I can get out of it with other wave forms.
Nice one. Thanks again for sharing.

Wooow... amazing patch E. sounds pretty cool ;).
I was experimenting with hypersaw 2 and it is very cool... sounds just so powerful. =P. The power of the Virus TI :toocool:.
Gotta check this THOR out.
Keep it up mate. :) |
