I heard this very interesting bass line in Project Runway Canada (not really a trance bassline). Here is the sample:

And I made a midi out of it. I think the midi is almost correct [the beat should be about 122, the keys are C + F...], but the end parts (where the bass goes faster) are WRONG and I can't get them right. Here is the midi I made:

Anyone who could help to get it right?

to me it sounds like a saw with amplitude modulation (an LFO which modulates the volume of the OSC)

in the original tune it's a sample as you can hear how the modulation gets slower with lower notes.

Yeah, it's from Project Runway Canada's final runway show, so there were real audience cheering :D

TheCyrus, thanks for the advice. :tongue2

But I am more after the timing/structure of the melody...
And I can't get it 100% right. Help with that?

Why are most your posts about copying someone elses sounds or melody?
While copying sounds and melodies is great for practicing purposes, it doesn't do much if you don't figure it out on your own.
If you don't have the patience to learn and become better maybe you shouldn't be producing at all?
I'm sorry if I sound harsh, but I'm just being honest.

No no, it's ok mr. E.
I'm not really calling myself a producer at all :D

And as you can see/hear if you download the midi-file, I did really try to copy the bass line.
But I just can't get the fast ending correct... I think it is like 80% right but the endigs just are wrong... I am just curious about some melodies how they are done.

It goes something like that, with maybe some embellishment. The last 2 notes might need to be moved around..

yeah dude your mid doesn't have the bass going up nearly as high as the real thing. Once that note changes pitch it goes up a few semitones above what you have.

Lana
Wow!
I think I finally did get the bass line correct (well at least 90% right :D ).

Take a listen, here is the midi I made now:

Tell me what you think?
Is it right now? or is there still something wrong...
I think the fast endings stay at the root key (C + F).
The notes just play bit faster...
What you think?

And thank you all for your input/help!!
even you, dear Eldritch.
:D
