i've enough other hardware synths that i don't need more than 2 TI outputs..

Wow I can't believe Access are adding a 3rd output. This will make my life soooo much easier. I don't understand why they didn't go USB 2.0 anyway. USB 2.0 has been out much longer than the Virus Ti has. No more need to bounce down audio!!! (as much)

Exactly. I actually try my hardest to use as many sounds from the Ti as possible because I paid freakin nearly 2k for it! Plus its extremely versatile. Its not like someone is going to hear a track and be like, , that guy used 8 virus patches in his track what a e track.

You can't assign effects to midi, because it's data and not audio. And the virus only support two stereo outputs (There will be three in the next OS). You can activate the second output using the menu to the left of the Virus plugin in the VST Plugins window.

Ok I managed to activate the 2nd output on the Virus - presumably this is USB 2? So now how do I actually make use of it in Cubase? Do I need to launch a 2nd instance of the VST or something? I was trying to figure this out last night. Assumed there would be a 2nd Virus TI synth option when selecting midi outs but no.

Help!!

you need to change the MIDI CHANNEL which is routed to the virus plugin.
Magnus
No need to do anything in Cubase. The 2nd Virus output channel should have been in your mixer the whole time, it just wasn't being used. It should be right next to your Ti 1 channel, called Ti 2 or something like that.
Reno
Still can't work this out.

From the Virus control I went to the common page and changed the 2nd out to USB2 L+R.

When I route a midi channel I only have the option to have Virus TI as the output. No 2nd TI. Also there is no additional TI in the mixer.

Sure I can use all 16 channels on the Virus routed to each midi channel but if I add a Cubase effect, it will add it to all 16 channels. Where am I going wrong?

do know how to trigger seperate virus ti parts? if so then your only problem is selecting the output for each part. you can do this in the "common" register on the virus plugin. somewhere top right is a dropdown box to select the output. (in cubase 4 you need to use the plugin with the rack (F11) and enable the second output)

I just thought of something. Do you guys have Cubase configured to use the Virus ASIO drivers as your sound card then have 2 stereo outs going into your mixer?

See I'm using my MAudio sound card so my processing is done on that. All I have plugged into my TI is the usb cable.

thecYrus
no i don't use the virus audiointerface.

but why don't you read the manual from access which explains how you do it in cubase or why don't you watch the video from access music which shows it pretty well too?

Read the manual...it worked!! :whip: :whip: :disbelief :eyes:

No seriously though I tried the exact same thing earlier and it didn't. But I also didn't realise there were several missing channels in the mixer if I just widened the window!!

cheers man. Sorry to waste your time!!
