Maryliz sent me a part of the pictures taken that night.
Soon I will get the other ones.

I am not taking anything away from that night. I am stressing that Markus and every other big DJ should get better conditions for such a big room.

Were you even there? I would guess not. Because if you were you would not be whining away. The night was a smashing success, take it from those of us that actually attended. ;)

Why would I go to all the trouble of talking about Mansion's Sound System if I had not been there my fair share to hear it? Now finally after hearing a recording from the place, I am convinced that they need to fix it badly. With the WMC coming up, and people paying almost $100 to hear Tiesto or Sasha and Digweed, it really isn't fair to the performer or the listener to have to put up with that nonsense.

IMO the GDJBWT here in Miami was nothing compared to the previous 3 he aired (Argentina, BC, and China) Track selection was dull, sound was not good, and I expected that because WMC is too close to be playing anything mind-stopping. The sound System that MS will use in March (which is a smaller venue, with more sound than Mansion) will sound way more crisp. Hopefully March will be really good, and if you go, you'll think of this thread and be like "Hmmmm that smart-ass on TA was right... These two shows are completely different"

when was the last time you went? its no space sound system of course but it sounds a lot better than in recent years when i was there in october. and i have no idea why you think the hosted set has anything to do with the sound system inside space. by that standard, i must have an amazing sound system b/c my sets are clear as hell lol.

I was at this show.

I am talking about the SQ being a patron in Mansion.

I refer to the quality of transitions in the mix for REFERENCE to being at Mansion.

For the minimal beepy-boppy one sound a measure stuff you listen to Diego, you won't hear that kind of thing in those sets. Sasha did not have anything maxed out at all in Oct. He plays at a much slower Tempo than Markus. There wasn't enough Volume that night if you ask me. Also Sasha's tracks are all lined up in Live, so of course it is not going to sound choppy. But when you get a DJ like Markus who uses three CDJ's, plays faster progressive/trance at a faster tempo, you will hear them make transitions they do not normally make on a regular basis. I am arguing in favor of everyone being able to get what they pay for in terms of sound, and that's all.

Who's talking about Space? I wasn't...

hehehe. it's funny because the camera they have, you can remove the red eyes in pictures. I have that option too on my brand new Sony Cybershot. I guess they don't know what all the options are :p

Can't wait to meet you too :)
We're going to have a blast :toocool:

i was just making a reference to space. in any case i thought you were saying that you were basing your opinion that mansion needed to upgrade their system based on how the set sounded and that you weren't at the show. thanks for clearing it up ;)

Well everyone already knows and has discussed the fact that Mansion's sound system has serious issues. That horse has been beat to death 100000000 times already. They need to either tweak the existing system, or scrap it altogether and replace it. I was there 4 Corsten and he was the only one I noticed brought in extra sound, and you could tell the difference. And BTW I will not be @ Mansion for WMC. Anyone who does go is setting themselves up for failure.

However it seemed from your posts that U were/are stating that Markus' set was weak or sucked. And if so, I disagree completely. Was his set the best in history, no of course not, but it was good. The set progressed well, and he played tracks that made the crowd move. Last time i checked that is what a DJ is supposed to do, and many DJs have failed miserably when trying to do so @ Mansion (a ty venue that brings the worst out of many DJs to say the least - hint-hint Tiesto). Maybe Markus did not play the most underground set in history and did not bust out the uber-secret white label ID tracks that were hidden embedded within the 10 commandments or buried 10,000 feet under the red sea protected by a team of 50 foot white sharks and only discovered by Martians. But he played a set that did what it was supposed to do, kept the crowd dancing.

Either way, as always everyone is entitled to their opinions, which will vary ;)

I guess I am bent out of shape about this night because I expected so much more than what it was. To drive 4 hours, party, then to drive 4 hours back; and work immediately following this is what got me on my rant. I do expect a great, fresh set from Markus when he comes here, who doesn't?

Markus used to be here so much, and I miss those good underground sets I used to attend.

Highlight Track for me was his mix of "rush" That really was a great interpretation of that track.
