Battery 3 - Can't drag and drop samples?

When Battery 3 first came out, I tried it out and ended up just sticking with Battery 2 because you cannot drag and drop samples into cells from a Windows explorer window like you can in Battery 2.

So a few builds later, I figured I would try it again, thinking maybe they fixed this. Same issue. Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but if you try and drag a sample from an explorer window into a cell on Battery 3, it gives you the no can do sign. Battery 2 works fine this way. Furthermore, if you right click on any cell in Battery 3 and choose to put in a sample, the window that opens for you to browse samples has no auto playback feature for samples like Battery 2. Why would they remove this? Its crucial. I looked through all the options and can't find anything to fix this. This is a deal breaker for me. All the Googling I did for Battery 3 talks about its ease of use and its ablity to "drag and drop" samples in. I realize you can do this from within the Battery 3 interface but that is cramped and clumsy.

Thanks in advance!

Seriously?? Its just not me? They really took out this seemingly basic and expected functionality? I just don't get it. As for Guru, I hear lots of good things about it I will have to check it out.

Why not just use B3's library browser? Add your most used samples (or folders of samples) to your Favorites folder and you've got instant access to your samples, the ability to preview them, and drag-n-drop capabilities. Simple. Quick. Done.

That is part of the problem with me too. The B3 library browser is not a well designed interface. Its small fonted and cannot be maximized from the way it is out of the box. Its limiting to me. The thing that just burns me up is fine, give us the cool new B3 library browser, but why take away the old functionality of Battery 1 and 2? Functionality that seems so simple and is expected. Its natural to want to drop and drop from an explorer window. We should have both methods available to us.

You can drag and drop from Explorer into B3 if you launch the B3 standalone application but for some reason it doesn't work when you run B3 as a VST.

Hope that helps.

Hmmmm...that's odd. The scroll wheel works fine for me when I'm using the browser. Are you using the most recent update? I wonder if there's a preference setting for toggling the scroll wheel off/on (?). Or, maybe it's be a host-specific support issue. I'm using it with Sonar 7, Project5v2.5, and Cubase (Studio 4 and SL3).
