Hi guys, if you have time your thoughts on this would be great. Still needs a tweak here and there.

Genre: House (Or prog house?)
Length: 7:18
Quality: 192 Kbps

I did post a sample of this end of last year but this is the full track reworked. Nice 1

Lovely percussion in this trick. Very clean and crisp and the clap/snare on the second beat sounds great.

The kick is nice but on my monitors sounded a bit too bass heavy.

The bass sound that comes in after the first minute or so could maybe do with a touch of delay?

I like the less is more approach you've took. Really allows each sound to stand out on its own. But maybe a subtle pad or something when it all gets going might help to build the tension.

Mixing sounds good. Maybe I would work on the sound of the bass type lead you have.

Other than that, good stuff

Hi greg, I too had that thought on the kick. So do you think the main bassline needs to have more depth?
G-Con
I think so yeah.

Probably tone down the bass on the kick and thicken up the main bass line with more bottom end. I think at the moment, because of how bassy your kick is, your main bass line has had to be quite weak to make room for the kick. So yeah, I would try fattening up the bass and probably use a different kick to compliment it.

To be honest though, I'm far from any expert and others may completely disagree with me :D

I agree I was yet to test run this on a some better speakers. The kick is stealing some of the low end. I chnaged the pad to which sounds weaker. Ill change the kick bass and pad and will updated the post. Many thanks for your feedback mate, much appreciated.

ok... so yes, kick is just hitting in the wrong frequncy... needs to be about 30hz higher for a thump :)

bassline at 2:20 is rad !

i hear some pryda-esk stuff in this, sounds cool

3:40 cool bassline, since its the breakdown maybe play with some fx on it, since it doesn't have to be dry... its fun to play with basslines when you don't have to worry about it effecting the rhythm, then bring it back dry when you bring the percs back

you track is also what we call a bit "smiley-face", if you look at the frequencies of sounds you've chosen, you'll notice a big gap from about 300hz-1k. trying using a c4 on some of your sounds to grab those frequencies and bring them up, will help with the drive of your tune

cool work mate!

Hey man, as said before thanks for the advice. Some good tips there ill use some of that when i make some changes. Glad you like it, i did try and cut out some of the mid freq's as its was muddy, maybe I done too much. Ill update again. Cheers guys.

Really nice work here. The sounds are all very crisp and professional, and the percs have a nice "stereo" feel going on.

Just a thought for something you could experiment with: as I was listening, I thought that a "running" bassline might contrast well with the pretty sparse arrangement you have going on. But maybe you already tried that and decided against it. Or maybe you could use it for another mix of the track? I dunno.

:clown:

Again, very nicely done.

Hi MrJiveBoJingles thanks for those comments its much appreciated. Ive been working on making my sounds defined and gald to know its getting there. The bass idea I havent tried, but will definatly work on the bassline and give it more movement.

Running bassline is a good one, will have a go. Thanks again.
