Beware of airlines in Europe with baggage resrictions. Airlines like Ryan Air only allow 15 kilos and Vueling (low cost airline based in Spain) allows 20 kilos, after that they charge you per kilo.

a tad expensive whatever you do...just an idea, somebody should bring that ibiza experience to Hollywood...:tongue3

I've been twice for 10 days each time, once in July and the other in August. Each time it has cost me approximately $3500-4000. This includes flight, hotel, food, and spending money. I spent money fairly freely and you can certainly do it for cheaper, or you can spend far more fairly easily. I stayed in Playa d'en Bossa, which is typically more expensive than San An.

Here are some of my observations and recommendations.
-The clubs are expensive to get in and the drinks are insanely expensive. If you're drinking, get a buzz on before you go in.

-Don't buy stuff from guys selling on the streets, no matter how tempting it is. Get to know someone -bartender or someone of the sort-and ask them.

-Petty crime is rampant and the police are less than helpful. Keep your valuables locked up. Ladies- if you have to bring your purse with you, do NOT leave it unattended, especially when at an outdoor bar or restaurant.

-Rent a car. The island is beautiful and there are many great beaches you can only get to if you have one.

-Go to DC10, Sundays at Space, and Cocoon. Space is an amazing venue, Amnesia is a great club, and Circo Loco at DC10 is all it's cracked up to be and more.

Ibiza is an amazing place. Be cautious, use your head and you'll have a magical experience.

first of all, do more than JUST party in ibiza... the beaches there are ing amazing, especially the non-tourist-infested ones. ask the locals where their personal favorite beaches are. if you sound genuinely interested in exploring all the island has to offer, they will gladly help you. the locals really appreciate a traveller that appreciates the island and isn't there to just get smashed every night. also spend a day ferrying out to formentera, which is ibiza's sister island. it is regarded as the jamaica of the mediterrainean because of it's clear blue waters and shallow shores. it is also a much more quiet and undisturbed island. eat at david's in san antonio--best ing pizzas in the universe. you'll find yourself coming back very often as it's pretty much the best food in all of san antonio. if you like college-atmosphere drunken mayhem spilling out into the streets, check out the westend. can't beat 2 pints for 5 euro!

as far as partying goes, you must check out we love space during the day and night, circoloco @ dc10, amnesia, pacha is ok--probably the stuffiest, hottest, most claustraphobic megaclub on the island--but worth seeing just for the lushness, jugs of fresh sangria at cafe del mar/mambo--especially when pacha does a free pre-party there, bora bora during the day, and if you know how to rub shoulders with the right people, try and get to an underground or promoter party in ibiza. there are tonnes of them in so many chill ass settings whether it's in a cave, at an abandoned zoo, underneath a dive bar, on a yacht or at some villa in the hills. the best way to get connected is to make friends with a club promoter. these are the people who wander around the beaches and cafe del mar handing out flyers and wristbands to passerbyers. just go up to them and chat them up, it's a refreshing change for them. if you bump into a chill promoter on several occassions, he or she will hook you up with legit party supplies and party info.

the best advice i can offer you though is to just open up and meet as many people as you can while you're there. try not to be a stereotypical american and you can learn a lot about a lot. most people are there to meet other people as it is a worldly melting pot of people who are on the same wavelength. ibiza is best if you follow that approach because it allows so many windows of opportunity to open before you.

if you wanna get real serious about researching ibiza, everything you need to know is on: http://www.ibiza-spotlight.com/ the clubbing forums is where you can get very specific advice.

I'm going in a couple weeks. No clubbing of course, just a week of fun in the sun. Then another one planned for the first three weeks of July. :)
