So i'm going to be spinning at a party tonight and I have no way to transfer my decks. I was thinking about just picking up a cheap (relitivley) coffin case so I can transport them easier this time and hopefully in the future. Is this a good idea or should I stray away from cheap cases alltogether?
I was thinking about picking this up for 100$ after work, http://www.guitarcenter.com/Odyssey...514-i1155864.gc
Any input would be appreciated. |

| I have that coffin and it SUCKS. Don't get it. It's a pain in the ass to transport. Once you have your decks + a mixer in there, it is heavy! Unless you're stronger than me...I'm a weak little bitch :p |

I used original boxes for a while, too. If it's good enough to go through shipping, it should be good enough for you to transport, since you are more apt to be gentle with them.
djkoolaide pointed out one of the downfalls of a coffin: with all the equipment inside, it gets really heavy. However, you can get a portable keyboard stand (make sure it's sturdy enough!) and have a consistent setup anywhere. Also, with a coffin, you can leave stuff wired together.
I went with separate cases so I could mix & match equipment and position them where I want. Also, you won't always have enough room to fit a coffin, but you can easily stack cases to fit.
I still opted for a keyboard stand (OnStage Z-type). I just have a small aluminum frame that I put under to provide a surface to hold the cases. It's a simple and relatively lightweight portable solution. |

| Coffins are the way to go! The one I own even has wheels...makes transport a BREEZE! |

| I opted to keep my boxes for now hah, I plan on upgrading my decks eventually so I'll buy a case once I'm able to. |

im using original box to move the nuo5 and everything is fine.
A friend which rent turntables, cd player or mixer only rent them with their original box. (he uses coffin he made for his thing, cause he moves them 2-3 times a week). |
