Which external soundcard for less than 80 €?

I'm running under Ableton and I noticed that the auio output often cuts out because of lack of CPU and a crappy internal soundcard.

Since I have a laptop, I can't have an internal soundcard so I was wondering if any of you knew a good externa soundcard for a fair price.

I've heard of the Creative Sound Blaster but I don't know if it's any good.

Any thoughts?

ps: I also own a Roland SH 201 so I'd need a sound card supporting fast ASIO drivers.

your sh201 actually has an ASIO soundcard in it. try that first.

Because the last thread might be old and not up to date.

Because newer soundcards might have up since the last thread was upped.

Because I'm maybe not looking for the same product as the guy on the last thread.

Because the search engine really badly sucks.

Because I like putting up my own threads from time to time.

I knew that but I wasn't sure I could use the synth and Ableton at the same time using the SH 201 as a soundcard.

Good luck getting anything external for 80 €. Expect to pay atleast 250 € for something good.

read the manual of SH i bet u can use it as a synth in ableton and at the same time as main soundcard. its probably divided into two ins and two outs and u only need outs as soundcard and only ins to get the synth sounds. im unsure whether u get feedback from the synth sound tho as it might also go to synths output jack. read the manual

You're right and you don't even have to use 2 inputs, I had quite a hard time setting up the SH201 but it works fine!

The only downside of it is that the USB connection is USB 1.0

I don't know why but it seems that the ASIO soundcard of the SH-201 is way too slow. The sound output just keeps jumping and I cannot stress you enough when I say it's really annoying.
