Steve man, would you be able to provide a link to the jack? I'm pretty new at this and don't know what it is? I know RCA's but what kind of cables are you talking about? On my soundcard box, it only shows a Red/White and Digital out, no little input for a jack??? And on the front it has a Line In 1 and 2 and Headphones?

here's my setup dan

i have the red and white rca inputs of my external sound card hooked up to the red and white rca's the booth output from my mixer (so i can control how loud the channel is independantly).

the sound card is plugged into the lappies usb.

i'm using adobe audition, so i start a new session and when play choons i can see the signal coming through on the lappie. adjust the booth so that it's not peaking too hard like have of your munters on a weekend.

hit record..

booyakasha!!

that help mate?

just tryiong to find a more detailed pic of your card.
typically you will need those line in.
basically see RCA and Red being Right and White Being left. and on your soundcard, your input 1 is left, and input 2 is right. so get the necessary cable to plug from your mixer into the card.

I just press 'record' on my tape deck!
