If you buy only one compilation this year, make sure it is this one!
The first in a new DJ led series from Euphoria sees an array of trance-based sub genres take centre stage. This first album, a true mix of Psy-Trance Euphoria, is expertly put together by John '00' Fleming. It's an exciting time at Euphoria as these DJ-led albums will support a heavy event and touring base this year. With an Ibiza residency in place, Euphoria can now bring the music to the masses. The first two discs are John's take on psy-trance with a tribal/psychedelic-based energetic trance mix. Disc three is an exclusive set of new tracks from John and production partner Digital Blonde. They go under the artist name 00.DB and is their debut artist album that fits perfectly into the psy-trance sound and scene.

OMG!!! When have you last seen a psy-trance compilation advertised on national TV??????
...have they gone nuts, desperate or did the penny finally drop?
Well, the penny will surely drop for Ministry of Sound and most likely for many Trance supporters who just about have given up on the genre itself...
Whatever happens, please do not slaughter our jealously guarded music by going and making it a commercial niche for the big players! Take it easy and approach it like you would approach a virgin at your wedding night and let the music guide you instead of the ing hype!
Well, I warned you now - let's see if you manage this one without spilling its blood. Any questions about what I just said - send me a pm, otherwise...
Enjoy! |

Well, I see trance compilations ( ones) being advertised all the time, but anyway...
On TV?
Psy-trance?
That goes down about as well as a pedophile in a daycare centre. Most people in the house/techno scene will never understand or appreciate psy, let alone the general public, being the muppets they are.
I remember being in JB Hi-Fi a few months ago and some bulldog came in with his 3-inch make-up girlfriend and was interrogating the poor staff member from JB:
"Got any Hard Bass CDs?"
"I don't think so..."
"How about Hard Energy?"
"No..."
"Bass Attack?"
"Nup."
"Mega Dance Trance Laser Fest?"
"Err...no."
"Phat Bass?"
"No."
"Maximum Pain?"
"Nope."
"Maximum Bass?"
"Nope."
...and so on and so forth, not giving a about the CD he was getting, as long as it had "fully sIK baSs!@!!!"
p.s Ordered my copy of this from JB today, should be with me in a fortnight. Not a single store in Victoria had bothered to order any, meaning even if people go in they won't find it on shelves. |

Dude there are plenty of people in Melbourne who love psy-trance, don't act as if you've found a kindred soul! :stongue:
It took me a two years or so to get all my mates into trance, and I thought that psy would be much tougher, but after I made them see J00F and Hallucinogen at Kryal and dragged them to "zoom" bar at the full moon party every night, they're all loving it, now I look forward to going to more psy-oriented events like earthcore etc...
p.s Transphere, any recommendations? I tend to prefer the Israeli sound, more about dominant bass lines than trippy sounds like Hallucinogen (though that type is great too). Hom Mega is a good label, though I don't like some of the electro influenced artists like Astrix much. Domestic, Pixel, X-Noize and Wrecked Machines are all good though. |

Are you coming this Saturday to CONQUEST?
I just got UNIVERSO PARALELLO delivered in the mail and I love it - it is full-on psy from South America and doesn't sound as generic as the 4000 or so DJ's from Tel Aviv.
Also, ACE VENTURA's Rebirth album is an absolute gem if you want to move to the other side of the scale but you probably know that one already.
Human Blue's new album is about to hit the psy-world!!! I am putting my money on this one at the moment...
And of course 00.db's debut album out on the 18th this month...
I am serious, to you Psy-Trance may be the language you understand but I know that in the australian Trance capital (namely Melbourne) the term Psy-Trance is still a dirty word...
So, I am utterly delighted to get to know another defender of the FORCE in this amazing town...
see ya out there ;) |

MOST being the key word, as long as you're including psygressive in that statement
