ok this is kinda stupid question but ive always wondered what the hell the announcer is saying throughout the set...
i know the start: dj tiesto on the wheel, and next year will be an id and t year...so everybody clap your hands for dj tiesto...
i never understood the rest of it...
anyone knows? |

Its just MC'ing to build up the crowd. Just a load of silly nonsensense during a breakdown to make peeps more excited!
Its in ENglish, so it shouldn't be to hard to catch in the set. |

The worst one is on Dumonde Live @ RPR Maximal from Jan this year I think ...
Stupid bastard just keeps talking and talking and talking and talking and .. well you get the picture..
I wouldn't mind if he wasn't speaking in dutch :D
Which brings me to another question - at all the dutch raves, on the radio etc .. why is everyone speaking English? I thought you guys spoke German or Dutch or something? (pardon my ignorance plz :)) |

probably because english is more widely recognised. most of those who speak dutch can speak english anyways so it can reach a larger audience:cool: like me:) |

well, since I'm dutch I'll answer it...
overall we tend to hang more and more to the english language... most important cause of this is ofcourse the computer :)
PLUS in english you can express your feeling WAAAAAAYYYY better then in dutch... some sentences which sound *really* cool in english, suck mayor ass if pronounced in dutch (I wish I could give you an answer... but then I would have to type dutch, which you won't understand, and therefor is option, cause you would miss the point of the funny things you get then :D )

I agree that MCs can often add something to the set - people like that Brit chick with the sexy voice that pops up during Paul van Dyk's Knebworth set from August 01, or the German chick during Blank & Jones at Mayday 01 "einslive mayday zwei tausend eins mit blank and jones" .. really nice sexy voice :)
And I don't mind Pete Tong's voice either....
But some MCs just don't know when to shut up. Damn that's annoying :( |
