Rust proofing for new car

Anyone know of any good quality places to get rust proofing? Believe it or not but the Acura dealer charges $800 and my friend actually knows the shop that does the rust proofing for them and it's only $250! So before I bring my car in... thought I'll throw it out there to see if anyone has other recommendations.

You have to be kidding me , $250 for rust proofing? somones getting ripped off. Every place I went to that did a good job did it for $100. My BMW mechanic who has a very good rep does rust proofing, oil change and all fluids changed for $180.

Mind sharing his contact info for a fellow BMW owner?

best place is krown rustproofing hands down.

and only reason dealer charges so much for rustproofing is because you get a no rust warranty.

other than that the labour and shop supplies cost them 70 dollars.

Hmmm... sounds too good to be true. Do you have to redo it every year or two? And yes, pls share where this place is.
Abercrombie
There's the dripless oil spray rustproofing, and it goes as low at 70 bucks/yr. Even Walmart offers it.

The rustproofing done at the dealer is a one-shot deal.

No need to rustproof BMWs that are 1999+. Not sure about Acuras and Lexuses, though, I would think you're safe with both that are 2003+ as long as you wash regularly, including the wheel wells (just spray, with soap-wipe around the lip as I always did).

Everyone I know goes to the Dealership to get that done.

Its RMP motors in Bolton. Number is 905-951-0002, his name is Rocco.

Just ask for the rust proofing deal, thats if they still have it... Even tho i think theres really no point in rust proofing now, winters done in 2 months pretty much.

Why wouldnt you need to?? I have a freind who has a 2002 bmw and its already started to show a little rust cuz the previous owner never did rust proofing. Every car needs to be rust proofed, unless its like a corvette which is all fiberclass pretty much.

New(er) cars are rustproof, manufacturers have already treated them. I'm sure a luxury brand like Acura have pre-treated their cars... let me ask my fellow co-workers about this;) :gsmile:
