Because, through psychiatric analysis you will realize that everything they tell you is a lie; and you've been the subject of some pretty sinister yet simple mind-control and diversion tactics. Scientologists would rather not have you spend $100 to $400 a week on psychiatry when you could be putting in up to a half million dollars to reach the top OT levels. (operating thetan)
They justify this in their mythology by saying that it was psychiatrists who drugged them and shipped them away from their home planet on a space-capable DC-10, planted them on earth around volcanoes, and detonated nuclear arms to kill them all!
But really... my biggest gripe is that they are a corporation [not in the same sense as say a christian church] who enjoys tax exempt status. See... I can go to a church on any sunday and sit in for free... I may get some disaproving looks for not tossing anything in the collection tray, but I can still learn and express my faith for free. [keep in mind, I'm no christian] There is no free Scientology. You pay for EVERYTHING... and like I said, to reach full "clear" status will cost you around half a million. It seems that if they really are the one true faith, that there wouldn't be such a high bar of addmitance.
Anyhow, can you think of how the cities would benefit if they paid the same taxes as any other corporation? Conversely... religion and freedom thereof is a VERY tricky issue. |

my point is that IQ tests do not exist without psychology..... so how can they tell you that psychology/psychiatry is a lie when they are using it themselves...
edit: just relized it was just something someone claimed they do, i relize that maybe they arent using iq tests mah bad |

Just another example of their hypocrisy I guess. They also swear that they will refund you if you decide to leave... a couple of quick Google searches will reveal how much BS that is. They swear against using drugs to treat the sick, but see no problems with pumping dangerous amounts of vitamins and minerals the sick.
Out of principle, you shouldn't really trust ANY organization that requires that many high-priced lawyers to keep their nose clean. |
