Come out!

epic night. just epic, and smooth. best way i can describe it.

i bought the vip tickets but didnt get there till 9:30pm because i had a party at my house the previous night in st pete and it went on until 1pm sunday. so i slept at 2pm but my alarm for 5:30pm didnt wake me up but someone who crashed on my couch woke me up at 8:45pm. luckily he woke me up or i wouldve slept right through the whole show.

i could tell a difference between sasha and three, pretty easily. everytime three went on i knew it was him before even looking at the booth because i noticed the sound to suddenly become more minimal tech house, and when sasha would come on it became more feel good prog sounding type tech house. the only time i was fooled was when i heard audion - im a man, which i thought for sure is something more of the style three would play but i was surprised to see it was sasha playing that one, and he played it perfectly eq'd and pitch was perfect for making people move. other than that, sasha had a smoother, easier groove, it was just more feel good and easy to bob around to. sasha would constantly layer in a new beat or element every couple minutes it seemed, like as if he was making a new track on the spot.

so anyway the sound kept switching between 2 styles of the 2 djs, but it was slight, both styles very similiar but i could definitely notice the difference. three played what he usually plays and most of the time i thought it was not in that perfect sweet spot of pitch for getting that groovy feel. both were excellent but i think sasha was slightly better sounding music than the quirky afterhours feel three was playing.

i kept wanting to agree with everyone else i talked to who were saying this night is perfect, 10/10, but i kept saying its a 9/10, because you cant just carelessly hand out the 10, you have to reserve that number for the absolute best nights ever in history. so people then agreed with me 9 is a very high rating to give.

this is the best night of music i have ever witnessed in tampa, and one of the best nights of music i have ever witnessed anywhere, ever, in my whole life. i mean it was definitely up there among the very best.

now can we get a liveset recording?

p.s. did anyone go to butch johnson's after? how was it?

apparently the audio wasn't recorded, at least that's what the staff i was next to all night told me. they did a record a large portion of the night though with video.

there is a Sasha set from 1/1/8 over in the TA tracklist section with a few of the tracks he played. Probably the closest we will get.

Not the smartest idea to post the first name and last name of someone...

We got there late, like around 4:45-5:00AM. Maybe about 30-35 people there. Didn't stay too long. The type of minimal Three played at HPC I like. Minus a few tracks, the stuff they were playing at the after-party wasn't my cup of tea.

I think the cops showed up around 5:30, but Butch talked to them outside and I don't think they made a big deal about it. We left shortly after so I don't know if it got broken up.

some tracks i remember hearing that werent mentioned yet:

falko brocksieper - blackbox
booka shade - body language (sr coconuts rmx)
fairmont - fade and saturate (that whole album is good)
a burial track, forget which one, sounded like a remix tho.

just remembered another audion track three played during the hour of techno bombs he was playing.

Matt John-Olga Dancekowski(Audion's Paradise Cafe Mix)  :eyespop: :eyespop: the best tracks though were all ing id's though :)

Diego, since when are you the ID king? Nice work man.

I thought it was pretty good, I was just chillin. It was a tight venue just to chill and enjoy the music. It was not too hot in there, it was not too loud, I could hear the next day. I would have like to hear more progression and trance like songs, but the minimal house did the trick.
