WOOT! So as of Thursday afternoon I will be officially on my 2 week "vacation" in Montreal - I am absolutely ridiculously stoked about this.
I will most likely see some of you at Nic Fanciulli on Thursday night...and then whatever else I manage to drag my sorry ass to for the next couple of weeks.

p.s. already have La Banquise programmed into my phone.
We're also checking out the 400-year festival in Quebec...

Can you guys let me know of any places where i can buy used DVDs? I want to pick u some Quebecois films when i'm down there. I got a good list from a friend already but if you guys wanna add some good titles, please feel free ;)

oh and - What's the deal with no cameras in clubs? Is this only Stereo's policy or all the clubs (Tribe, etc?)..

boite noir on st denis around mt-royal is very good for quebec films

check out C.R.A.Z.Y, Barbarian Invasion, Recherche Victor Pellerin, and Bon Cop, Bad Cop to name a few :P
Sean Walsh
Cameras are no problem at Tribe IIRC, but don't quote me on that, at afterhours they're not allowed. Most other clubs (St. Laurent) it's no problem.

Horloge biologique is another good movie

On ste-catherine there's a place that sells used cds near rue st-alexandre.

OOOh! this looks amazing!!! :D
Thanks for sharing that. We will definitely check out what we can.

These are the movies that my friend recommended:
Let's start with the Quebecois movies!

- Ma fille mon ange
- Borderline (Havn't seen but looks great)
- Les trois pe cochons
- Bon cop / Bad cop
- Les Boys (There are 4 of them (Les Boys 1 - 4))

From France:

- Le chateau de ma mere
- La gloire de mon pere (Two amazing movies from Marcel Pagnol (Old but AWESOME))

- Les choristes (Did I say Awesome!?!?)
- Taxi 1 - 4
- Dédales (hard to find but great/weird movie)

Oh yeah, and what's this about David Waxman playing on saturday? Is he any good? I think I'll be in Quebec City at the time so I won't be able to see but it was another show that was recommended to me.

P.S. What do you guys think of Time Supperclub ??

Seen borderline yesterday, its a repertoire movie not for everyone... not even sure if I liked it or not... she's one crazy ed up little girl... but damn 2 hours of that?

goodgreef
yeah my friend who recommended these movies seems to like a lot of serious stuff, so I assumed some of it might be really strange. I haven't read any of the synopses for any of them yet... so i'm just kind of hoping I'll like them too! haha
patpicos
an older quebec movie that i like is Hochelaga (movie about biker gangs)
