is it just me-

or do the A and B sides of a 12" usually sound similar? maybe not the exact same structure but really similar...
thoughts?

um, i dont know what records you get but for me A is one song and B is another, or a remix of side A or visa versa.

;

you sure they're not remixes of the same track?
Beat Blog
Often they can because the producer started with one basic song structure and realised they wanted to go in two different directions with it, and built two songs from the one base, hence why the tracks can use similar sounds and/or structures.

i like buying a record because of side A and finally realize that the track of B side is much better

Me and my mate used to do a 'B Sides' only night on occasions when he came round to mine.

Made for an interesting change, especially since we had limited vinyl because of the price and lack of vinyl dealers in our area.
