Hey guys, I just got a used Technics 1200 turntable it's pretty dirty, I'm planning to clean up all the dirt and everything...
Would you have have any do it yourself websites that can help with some stuff like cleaning the pitch fader, or anything else to keep the table running nice and smooth?

I found this site which was pretty detailed. |

| Get a professional to do it. It doesn't cost much and you can be sure it's done right. |

| Agreed. Have it disassembled and professionally cleaned. If you are comfortable with electronics, get the service manual and do it yourself... The pitch fader should be replaced, not cleaned. |

I went to get my repaired by a "professional", it was a Panasonic service centre, biggest waist of cash ever. Ended up costing me over $100 just for the guy to replace the rca cables, according to him, having the pitch randomly go out by 1-2 percent is not an issue.
The beauty of 1200s is they are so simple to fix. |
