He bruises too easily and is afraid of getting hurt.

:(

Plus he was coached by Jeff Tedford so he is pretty much doomed to fail in the NFL

so true

So from the point of view of those of who aren't Packer fans, what do they do?

:conf:

The way I look at it right now, if I'm Ted Thompson I basically go into 2008 with the assumption Rodgers is going to fail and therefore you're season is 50/50 at best, try to figure out who I need to lock down beyond 08, and go QB shopping.

They won't do poorly enough to get a really high draft next year, so I don't think counting on wasting another draft pick on a QB is an option.

And to be honest, I hope I have to eat all these words sometime this fall. ;)

I dunno what the Packer's other draft needs are but they could try and pick up somebody like Henne in the second round or maybe Booty from USC even later than that and take a chance on them. Assume that even if Rodgers totally sucks that you can give whoever you drafted a year or two to learn the ropes and then see what you have got. That might be your best shot since I dunno if there are any decent quarterbacks up for free agency anytime soon. You certainly wouldn't pick up a Favre quality player that way since any team with a franchise quarterback in there prime pretty much locks them down.

"According to the Facebook site for Madden NFL 09, the cover athlete is expected to be announced on April 25. Moreover, a quick check of the CBS schedule for Late Show with David Letterman shows that Favre is going to appear as one of Dave's guests tonight (April 24). For the past few years, EA has used late-night shows to announce the Madden cover. Last year Jimmy Kimmel's show was used to announce Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young for Madden 08.

A source at the taping describes how it went:

Brett: I have retired
Dave: Did you sign your retirement form?
Brett: I have not signed my retirement form.
(grins)

"

lol if they actually choose Favre for the cover.

Madden is unwilling to let him go from his life. The possibilities for the madden curse in his case intrigue me :p

Been keeping an eye on it. My team (Steelers) got some really solids picks in Mendenhall (RB Ill.) and Sweed (WR Texas) I just hope they have some good prospects lined up to fix that O-line.
